Foggy dripping morning. Tried to find out where in Sweden they have drought to no avail. Fire in the stove in morning.

Time for chores:

Daily chores from list: decide lunch and dinner, laundry of necessary, dishes if necessary which it most often since we cook at home mostly, empty the compost on the compost heap, mostly every 3:rd or 4:th day, make the bed which is good sometimes because we go out for a pee at night and never know what we bring with us in. Once M took a leach with him and itched on it in his sleep. Next morning he was wondering why his bed was a bloody mess. The creature was lying in a fat curl on the floor. Harvest vegetables, this if for mealtimes when needed or for preserves. We take a walk around the immediate garden to see if there is anything to gather. Yesterday it was about 10 macas from the little tree, 1 Davidsons plum, some oranges from all trees, lettuce, spinach and two pumpkins’ that were ripe and are put to dry a bit. There are 3 more coming and then it’s the end of pumpkin season. They last a long time though. Check the water tank and if needed pump up water into it. We filled it two days ago so there is no need to check yet. If the weather is dry and we need to water the patches plus shower inside we have to check it more often. Check for mice! We seem to have managed to fill all cavities and have not seen a mouse in weeks now. Fatso sits outside and stares us down then flies away. Every morning he and Pluto laugh and cackles outside our house – probably just to remind us that they still are around. Walk – yep this is always needed but almost never fulfilled. But lately after the embolism story we have managed to walk now and then. But it is all up and then aaaaallll down, phew! We are up to walking 6 km which is very good considering weather and such. Water vegies, not needed at the time. Fill the thermos with hot water for the days tea brakes. Fill the water filtering device so we have nice clean drinking water. Other water is straight from the tank which is straight from the creek with a bit of crude filtering. Now at winter we also need to take out the ashes. They end up in one of the compost heaps. And lastly register rain and the days and nights temperature. And there you have it.

We also have a longer or shorter morning meeting to decide what we shall try to accomplish during the day.

Today’s list:

Empty car of stuff, we left the wine after hurrying with all the food in the rain after Kemp.

Make lime curd, it came out delicious.

Debark poles for no 4, they came out very nice and will not attract ants too soon.

Make liver stew, chicken liver stew for two meals. Quite a rarity. Usually they have no liver at all in the store and if they have we find it mostly with the dog food. But what the h-!

Plant Lillypillies, finally we managed to go down by the creek path and make our way in among the bracken and privet (that shall one day be gone!) and find places for the 4 Lillypillies. Something has started to eat on them too so it is high time to plant them. We dug some holes in the bushes so they will be protected from the August frost and covered them lightly with bracken so the Bowerbird hopefully will not notice.

Make meat stew, no stew tonight we ended up with sandwiches instead – too lazy.

Fold laundry from yesterday that had not dried and we had to take them inside to dry over night.

This morning we also did some orange tasting. We numbered the 5 orange trees and the oranges and squeezed them in different glasses then tasted them. It was actually one two three sweet, less sweet, even less and a bit on the sour side. Tree no 1 is not ready yet.

Never got to prep windows. Yesterday we got a lot done and there is only a little left and then we can paint them. The slabin will look like a little cute house.

Tomorrow’s gonna be another day…..

Dimmig droppande morgon. Försökte ta reda på var i Sverige de har torka utan framgång. Eld i kaminen på morgonen.

Varje-dag-sysslor:

Dagliga sysslor från listan: bestäm lunch och middag, tvätta nödvändig tvätt, disk, om det behövs, vilket oftast behövs eftersom vi lagar mat hemma, töm komposten på komposthögen, mestadels var 3: e eller 4: e dagen, bädda sängen vilket är bra ibland för att vi går ut för en kissa på natten och aldrig vet vad vi tar med oss in. När M tog en igel med sig en gång och kliade på den i sömnen. Nästa morgon undrade han varför hans säng var en enda blodig röra. Igeln låg i en tjock krulle på golvet. Skörda grönsaker för måltider vid behov eller för konservering. Vi tar en promenad runt den omedelbara trädgården för att se om det finns något att samla. Igår var det ca 10 macas från det lilla trädet, 1 Davidsons plommon, några apelsiner från alla träd, sallad, spenat och två pumpor som var mogna. Det kommer 3 mer och då är det slutet på pumpasäsongen. De håller länge länge. Kontrollera vattentanken och vid behov pumpa upp vatten i den. Vi fyllde den för två dagar sedan, så det är inte nödvändigt att kolla ännu. Om vädret är torrt och vi behöver vattna grönsakerna plus duscha inne måste vi kolla vattnet oftare. Kolla efter möss! Vi verkar ha lyckats fylla alla hål och har inte sett en mus på veckor nu. Fatso sitter utanför och stirrar på oss och flyger sen bort. Varje morgon skrattar och kacklar han och Pluto utanför vårt hus – förmodligen bara för att påminna oss om att de fortfarande finns kvar. Gå – det är alltid nödvändigt men nästan aldrig uppfyllt. Men nu senast efter blodpropparna har vi lyckats gå då och då. Men det är uppför hela tiden och sedan neeeerföööör, puh! Vi har lyckats gå 6 km nu vilket är mycket bra med tanke på väder och sådant. Vattna grönsakerna, behövs inte just nu. Fyll termoserna med varmt vatten för dagens kafferaster. Fyll i filtreringsanordningen så att vi har gott rent dricksvatten. Annat vatten är rakt från tanken som är rakt från bäcken med lite råfiltrering. Nu på vintern behöver vi också ta ut askan. Den hamnar i en av komposthögarna. Och slutligen registrera regn plus dag och natt temperatur.

Och det är dagens.

Vi har också ett längre eller kortare morgonmöte för att bestämma vad vi ska försöka åstadkomma under dagen.

Dagliga uppgifter:

Töm bil på saker, vi lämnade vinet efter att ha skyndat med all mat i regnet efter Kemp.

Gör lime curd, det blev lyckat och gott.

Avbarka stolpar för nr 4, de blev bra och kommer inte att locka myror nu.

Gör leverstuvning, kycklinglever för två måltider. Ganska sällsynt. Vanligtvis har de ingen lever alls i affären och om de har vi finner vi det mest med hundmaten.

Plantera Lillypillies, äntligen lyckades vi gå ner vid bäcken och ta oss in bland ormbunkar och ligustrarna (de ska en dag vara borta!) Och hitta platser för de 4 Lillypillierna. Något har börjat äta på dem också så det är dags att plantera dem. Vi grävde några hål bland buskarna så att de kommer att skyddas från augusti-frosten och täckte dem lätt med bracken så att Bowerfåglarna förhoppningsvis inte kommer att hitta dem.

Gör köttgryta, ingen gryta i kväll slutade vi med smörgåsar istället – för lata.

Vik tvätten från igår som inte hade torkat och vi var tvungna att ta in den för att torka över natten.

Smulade gula Guava-löv som hade slutat torka, för te.

Hann aldrig förbereda fönstren för målningen. Igår fick vi mycket gjort och det är bara lite kvar att spackla och slipa så då kan vi måla dem. Kojan kommer att se ut som ett litet sött hus.

I morse hade vi också lite avsmakning på våra apelsinträd. Vi numrerade dem med 1-5. 1 var inte klara. 2-5 var söta i den ordningen från 2 var sötast och 5 var lite sur så den kan man göra marmelad av.

Och sen är det imorgon.
