Dishes for 3 days done, receipts registered. Checked My Gov letter. Did Jap lesson. Went through the toilet parts and arranged the tubs underneath the house. Registered the meat and cans and cleaned the fridge. Put back the fozen meat bags in freezer no 2 after the el. black out. Had pork chops, sweet potato & pepper oil fried onions & capsicum. Beautiful day but somewhat chilly.

So Kemp day. Up, cold as H-! Frost outside in the paddocks. Brekkie and packed Atlas and off. Took Postmans. Beginning with the library. Masks on! Everyone in Kemp wore a mask inside and most also outside. So did we. Everyone wore a mask inside. Library – mostly movies and a Lee Childs book for Jen. Bunnings second- stuff to the new toilet, gloves, knee pads for M for working in the patches and gas for the shower. Time for lunch in the park and then BWS for some liquor, BW for the sodasream bottle switching and Woolies for food. Diesel and fill a cannister too. Time for a cuppa before returning homeward. We were supposed to pick up our new composting toilet in Willawarrin but agreed to touch base before going there so called the transporting firm. The guy was in Kempsey so we agreed on meeting at Mooneba road. Did so and got our toilet and on home. Unpacked all and had some drink and snack and then food and chillaxing after putting away almost everything. Lot of work tomorrow registering food and unpacking the new composting toilet aso. It was so cold in the morning but ended up being 27˚C+ during the day!

Onsdag. Så Kempdag. Upp, kallt som H-! Frost ute i paddockarna. Brekkie och packade Atlas och iväg. Tog Postmans. Börjar med biblioteket. Masker på! Alla i Kemp bar en mask inuti och de flesta också utanför. Det gjorde vi också. Alla hade en mask inuti. Bibliotek – mestadels filmer och en Lee Childs-bok för Jen. Bunnings nästa – grejer till den nya toaletten, handskar, knäskydd för M för arbete i lapparna och gas till duschen. Dags för lunch i parken och sedan BWS för lite sprit, BW för sodavattenflaskväxling och Woolies för mat. Diesel och fyll på en dunk  också. Dags för en kopp innan du återvänder hem. Vi skulle hämta vår nya komposttoalett i Willawarrin men gick med på att röra basen innan vi åkte dit så kallade transportföretaget. Killen var i Kempsey så vi kom överens om att träffas på Mooneba road. Gjorde det och fick vår toalett och hemåt. Packade upp allt och hade lite dryck och mellanmål och sedan mat och chillaxing efter att ha lagt bort nästan allt. Mycket jobb imorgon med att registrera mat och packa upp den nya komposttoaletten. Det var så kallt på morgonen men slutade bli 27 ° C + under dagen!

Tired morning, worked in the patches, walked 3 km, planned the Kemp shopping, toilet transport lady called and we arranged for where to pick it up, prepped Atlas for Kemp shopping.

Walked 3 km, videochatted with mother, harvested and washed grapefruit, made an opening through the front wood pile into the shed, the new small flashlights with magnets arrived, chilly, sunny, Chicken soup for lunch and eye of beef with mushroom sauce ad potatoes for din, Mick tidied in the garage and pepped the chain saws. Pretty much that.

Windy as hell. Woke up to el-outage. Stinky wood last night and this morning. Hung around not getting much done. No electricity, no internet even Telstra gave up on us. Got the generator going to save the stuff in the fridge. We are almost at the time to go shopping so the new Freezer and little fridge freezer were half empty and we could stuff everything in the fridge freezer. Grated the lemon peel and squeezed them into juice and bottled. The lemons were very ripe so maybe they will not keep as long as they did last year. Froze the lemon peel. Did dishes. The wind died down toward late afternoon. Ben and Jay went by and stopped for a yarn. Ben had just aquired a ute that had run into the ditch and broken between tray and cabin – good for spare parts. Telstra on again. Now just waiting for the electricity. They are not saying when but then it is Sunday. Made the lemon curd. Now to do something with the grapefruits – thinking marmalade tomorrow. 

Söndag. Blåsigt som helvete. Vaknade till elavbrott. Stinkande ved igår kväll och i morse. Hängde omkring och blev inte mycket gjort. Ingen el, inget internet även Telstra gav upp på oss. Fick igång generatorn och för att spara maten i kylen. Vi är nästan på gång att shoppa så den nya frysen och den lilla kylskåpsfrysen var halvtomma och vi kunde fylla allt i kylfrysen. Rivade citronskal och pressade dem i juice och flaskade. Citronerna var väldigt mogna så att de kanske inte kommer att hålla så länge som de gjorde förra året. Frysta citronskal. Gjorde rätter. Vinden mojnade mot sen eftermiddag. Ben och Jay åkte förbi och stannade för ett snack. Ben hade precis fått en ute som hade kört i diket och brutit av mellan lastflak och hytt – bra för reservdelar. Telstra på igen. Nu väntar bara på elen. De säger inte när men då är det söndag. Gjorde citroncurden /citronsmörsmet. Nu för att göra något med grapefrukten – tänkande marmelad imorgon.

Laundry, dishes, washed the lemons, hung laundry – windy and chilly outside, split wood and removed nails and screws from some of the wood too, tried to arrange a walk way to back of the wood shed and arrange the wood in piles according to how dry the wood is, shower, lunch = waffles,  lazytime = teatime, grogtime (Saturday) popcorn aso. Din = fish sandwich.

Tvätt, disk, tvättade citroner, hängde tvätt – blåsigt och kyligt ute, klöv ved och tog bort spikar och skruvar från en del av träet, försökte ordna en gångväg till baksidan av främre vedhögen och ordna träet i högar hur torrt träet är, dusch, lunch = våfflor, lazytime = teatime, grogtime (lördag) popcorn också. Din = fisksmörgås.

20210723 fredag. Kkkkalltt. Eld i vedspisen. Tvättade den stinkande hängmattan och hängde ut för att torka, gjorde disken, gjorde yoghurt, M städade kryddflaskhyllan, publicerade på vår webbplats. Loquatsarna har inga knoppar eller blommor i vinter. Förmodligen för lite solsken i år – så synd. Avokadosen lever fortfarande nere vid bananplanteringen och även de lillypillysarna. Blomman jag planterade nere vid “hästhagen” lever också fortfarande – Yay! Gjorde lite mer klyvning och drog limegrenarna till eldstaden. Behöver snart bränna alla grenarna. Ogräsrensade i grönsakslanden lite och sedan började det att regna. Igen. Suck. Dammsög huset och tog in hängmattan – luktar gott nu. Hade bläckfisk, ris, majs och sötsursås till kvälls.

Cccold. Fire in the wood stove. Washed the stinky hammock and hung out to dry, did the dishes, made yoghurt, M cleaned the spice bottle shelf, posted on our site. The loquats have no buds or flowers this winter. Probably too little sunshine this year – so no fruit – such a pity. The avocado is still living by the banana patch and also the 4 lillypillies. The flower I planted down by the “horse paddock” is also still alive – Yay! Did some more splitting and dragged the lime branches to the fire pit. Need to burn all those branches soon. Weeded the patches a bit and then rain. Vacuumed the house and took in the hammock – smells good now. Had squid, rice, corn and sweet and sour sauce for din. 

20210722 Thursday.

Lots of frost! 7˚ inside, 1.8 outside!

Laundry, sawed and split wood – Jen used the new electric machine saw! Walked 40 min – still trying to get walking to be a routine, lunch, still chilly, sawed the rest of a pile of smaller and shorter wood, cleaned up the area around the wood shed.

Animals are hungry and try to get to the seeds of the grapefruit but it tastes tooo bad so they only make small marks on the peel, coffee time and then we called it a day. Getting used to all this body work after all the rains. It’s drying up a bit now but cold.

20210722 torsdag. Massor av frost! 7˚ inne, 1,8 ute! Tvätt, sågad och klöv ved – Jen använde den nya elektriska maskinsågen! Gick 40 minuter – försöker fortfarande få at gå bli en rutin, lunch, fortfarande kyligt, sågade resten av en högen med mindre och kortare ved typ skräpved, städade området runt vedboden.

Djur i omgivningen är hungriga och försöker komma till grapefruktens frön men det smakar så illa så de gör bara små märken på skalet, kaffedags och sedan avslutade vi dagen.

Att vänja sig vid allt detta kroppsarbete efter alla regn. Vi tar det pö om pö. Det torkar upp lite nu men kallt.
