We have not seen the creek since 2023. The bush has grown over sooo much since the fires. We cleared the road just enough so we could get wood for the winter but now – why not see if we can get down to the creek without getting lost.

Vi har inte sett bäcken sedan 2023. Bushen har vuxit så mycket sedan bränderna. Vi röjde vägen precis tillräckligt för att vi skulle kunna få ved inför vintern, men nu – varför inte se om vi kan ta oss ner till bäcken utan att gå vilse?

Vägen ser fin ut eller hur…. tills… Looking good until …..

Osso måste man stanna lite och kolla in naturen…. aaand why not a pause to check out the first flowers of spring!

Jaha osso går vi en bit till. Går och går … hugger oss fram. Till slut slängde vi verktygen och bara kröp igenom snåren.

Ok ok we walked a bit more… walk and walk but chopping our way through. At last we just left our tools and made our way crawling and pushing through the thicket.

Osso en lite blom-koll. Ok more spring flowers!!

Och en till. And one more!

And finally we found the creek! Ääntligen hittade vi den lille ån!

Bakom mig är den gamla stubben från tiden då timmergubbarna drog fram genom skogen. Det var en jättestubbe med hål i från plankorna de stack in i den för att stå på när de sågade ner trädet.

Behind me is the old stump from the time when the loggers worked their way through the woods. The stump was enormous and had holes left from the planks the loggers stood on to saw down the tree.

Not much left now. Inte mycket kvar sen eldarna och senaste årets regn.

Not much left after the fires and last years rains.

Ok, uppdraget avklarat. Hemåt och hoppas att vi inte går vilse. Vi har tagit ut hållpunkter så det ska nog gå bra. Men man vet aldrig.

Ok, mission accomplished! Home again and hoping we will not get lost. We had noted some points to keep track of our way up again but you never know.

Lo and behold! Look what I found! Native ginger! Yay.

Åhh hoppsan, vad jag hittade! Inhemsk Ingefära!! Tar med och planterar i landet eller nere i fruktlunden.

Fick tag på verktygen och den röjda vägen och och däär väntar Mulle snällt!

Found the tools and the cleared road and whoa Mulle is waiting patiently.

Mission accomplished Nice outing!

Patch 4. Still vegs growing but most have dies down now so it’s time to make changes! We have also had a couple of frosty mornings.

Land 4. Några grönsaker växer fortfarande men de flesta har vissnat nu så det är dags att göra förändringar! Vi har också haft ett par frostiga morgnar.

First up going to cut down some poles in the bush. These young trees we found up around the hill storage. We cut them up straight where we took them down.

Först ska vi såga ner några stolpar i bushen. De här unga träden hittade vi uppe runt bergkulle-förrådet. Vi högg upp dem direkt där vi tog ner dem.

Time to remove the old somewhat rusty fencing and pull up the poles it was attached to. There were some openings also where critters had made their way in.

Dags att ta bort det gamla, något rostiga staketet och dra upp stolparna det satt fast i. Det fanns också några öppningar där småkryp hade tagit sig in.

The tank is still leaking but has to wait until the weather warms up a bit.
