Vi fick lagom många Macadamianötter iår. Kakaduorna gick på nötterna alldeles för tidigt. Det var de gultofsade som kom först sen de svarta gulkindade. Synd att de kom för tidigt för nötterna var inte mogna alls och de slängde de flesta på marken men vi har plockat och lagt på mogning sas. Vi får se hur det artar sig. Här hänger de i den lilla hallen till verandan och badrummet. 

We got just enough Macadamia nuts this year. The cockatoos ate the nuts way too early. The yellow-crested ones came first, then the black and yellow tailed ones. Too bad they came too early because the nuts weren’t ripe at all and they threw most of them on the ground, but we’ve picked them and put them on the ripening rack. We’ll see how it goes. Here they hang in the small hall to the veranda and bathroom.

Ett nät vid väggen och vi vet att dessa är mogna i rätt tid.  A net on the wall and we know that these are ripe at the right time.

Sedan de som fåglarna gick löst på hänger bakom dörren. Then the ones that the birds dropped hang behind the door in the same hallway.

Vi får lagom med pumpor i år också. Vi sådde bara Butternutpumpor (myskpumpa) och av dem fick vi bara 3.

We also got just enough pumpkins to eat. We only sowed Butternut pumpkins and of those we only got 3.

Sen har de vanligare pumporna  (Kent) självsått sig i den ena gamla komposten (som vilar) och där finns 8 stycken kvar  plus några nya pyttesmå. Frysen är full så jag plockar dem när de är mogna och sen får de ligga ute i 2  veckor ungefär innan jag tar in i förvar. Här ligger de i förrådet men bara 4. Se sen om vi kan förvara dem i garaget igen.

Den här gången har inga kor sparkat boll med dem  –  ta i trä! 

Then the more common pumpkins (Kent) have self-sown in one of the old compost piles (which is composting) and there are 8 pumpkins left plus a few new tiny ones coming. The freezer is full so I pick them when they are ripe and then they are left outside for about 2 weeks to cure before I put them in storage. Here they are in the storage room but only 7. Then see if we can store them in the garage again.

This time no cows have played ball with them – touch wood!

Men iår är vi mer på hugget att prova nya pumpa recept.  But this year we are more on top of our pumpkin cooking trials.
