Ähum rättelse det ligger 8 pumpor i förrådet och 8 + ute i landet. Precis lagom

Först kom Lime.  Ingen vill äta lime, varken fåglar eller markdjur.

Sen åt possumen upp massor av citroner men vi har nätat tillräckligt för oss själva. 

Sen åt den upp alla Gula guavorna. Vi är nog inte riktigt med på noterna när det gäller guava.

Sen gav den sig på näst bästa apelsinträdet. Vi har nätat de två sista. 

SEN har vi fångat den och förpassat den till annat område. 

Ja, sen var det Davidson’s plum och nu plockar vi mandariner men de är ganska smaklösa. Vi har ju ingen sol att tala om de senaste månaderna, snart ett år nu. All ätligt haltar förskräckligt! 

Mitt i allt detta sådde vi för hösten. Vi ställde blomlådorna på verandan och sådde med tanke på allt regn. 

Men ack då slutade det att regna och solen tittade fram så vi flyttade ut dem till grönsakslandet för att de skulle få sol men ack då började det regna igen! Lite hade kommit upp men inte stora nog att plantera än. Varje dag gick vi och tömde blomlådorna  på vatten. Regnen bara fortsatte. Ibland kom korta solglimtar. Ogräset växte fortare än grönsakerna och övertog det mesta. Vi skyndade att plantera det som gick. Mest tomaterna och majsen och daikon. Tyvärr tog sig inte mycket trots våra omsorger. 

Nu har vi sått nya plantor inför “vintertiden”. Mest kålsläktingar men också rukola och lite Davidson’s plommon. Vi har också satt passionsfruktsticklingar. Vi fick inte så många i somras för odjuret åt upp dem. Han gav sig på gurkorna men tyckte inte om dem särskilt. 3 gurkor kvar att skörda snart. 

OCH ställt blomlådorna  på verandan igen. SUCK!!!

Jaja skam den som ger sig!

First came the Lime. Nobody wants to eat lime, neither birds nor land animals.

Then the possum ate lots of lemons but we have netted enough for ourselves.

Then it ate all the Yellow Guavas. We are probably not really on the ball when it comes to guava.

Then it went for the next best orange tree. We have netted the last two.

THEN we caught it and moved it to other hunting grounds.

Well then it was the Davidson’s plum and now we are picking mandarines but they are quite tasteless. We have had no sun to speak of in the last few months, almost a year now. Everything edible is limping terribly!

In the midst of all this we sowed for the fall. We put the planters  on the veranda and sowed in view of all the rain. See pic above with the seed packets in the planters.

But alas then the rain stopped and the sun came out so we moved them out to the vegetable patches so they would get some sun but alas then it started raining again! A little had come up but not big enough to plant yet. Every day we went and emptied the planters of water. The rain just kept on. Sometimes there were brief glimpses of sunshine. The weeds grew faster than the vegetables and took over most of them. We hurried to plant what we could. Mostly the tomatoes and the corn. Unfortunately, not much took root despite our care.

Now we have sown new plants for the “winter time”. Mostly cabbage relatives but also rocket and some Davidson’s plums. We have also planted passion fruit cuttings. We didn’t get many this summer because the beast ate them. He started on the cucumbers but didn’t particularly like them. 3 cucumbers left to harvest soon.

AND put the troughs on the veranda again. Sigh!!! See pic above without seed packets.
